Summer vacations in Sosua: zip-line, beach and hiking.

Hello everyone.

First trip…

About one month and a half ago I took some vacation days. To be exact ten days of vacations and it was wonderful! I traveled to the north of my country (Dominican Republic) to the town Sosua in Puerto Plata. (it can be literally translated as ”Silver Port”).

It was the first time that I traveled all by myself so it was a great adventure to me!

At the beginning, I accommodated in a cheap hotel that cost about 78 dollar for 3 nights, but it wasn’t a good deal for me because the hotel was a little noisy… but, in short, that’s part of the experience when one is an amateur, right?

Within the positive aspects there is that the beach was very close: ten minutes on foot. I liked a lot the  ultramarine blue color of the sea and warm brown of the sand.

In the quarter that I was at there were a lot of restaurants and bars, but this last one isn’t really my ambient, so I spent more time walking in the beach.

The most fun part of my trip were the adventures that I did.

I went to a park called Monkey Jungle. At the beginning I went to see the very cute and small monkeys who I fed with fruits, nuts and they played with my hair. One of them, the smallest one, tried to eat my necklace. That was too sweet and funny!

After spending time with the small monkeys and fortunately, leaving from there without monkey’s poop, I did the zip-line! It was an unforgettable experience! I put myself in the cable of the zip-line and I jumped with too much enthusiasm above the great plains! In that moment my adrenaline was the highest of my whole life.

My second adventure was in the 27 Charcos de Damajagua. (The 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua).

The experience was more like a very exciting hike! With the the group and the guides, I strenuously climbed up the mountains to then descend from them jumping and sliding the waterfalls each one higher than the previous one! There were some waterfalls that gave fear with their 13 meters of jumping height!

To conclude, that was my experience to relax a little from all the daily work without taking too many photos and videos but living the present moment! That does not mean that I don’t want anymore to blog, otherwise that I search a kind of equilibrium between focusing on capturing everything in photo and video for the blog and enjoying the moment without preoccupations.

There is a second part of my vacations but in Bahia de las Águilas, another province of my beautiful country! I leave you with this photo as a sneak peak.

Until the next post!
